I am so totally a 6!

All the study I have done in psychology has taught me that personality tests, and the concept of personality testing, varies from vague and nebulous to downright hokey. And yet, I cannot explain why I enjoy doing them so much.

On Sunday I went to Ikea and purchased aforementioned wall unit. (You may have guessed that I like the word aforementioned.) I also attempted to purchase the classy baskets, but unfortunately they were sold out. This annoyed me intensely, but still I am secretly thrilled that the object I had chosen is so popular. Mayhap I am fashionable. Yeah, right. :-)

It turned out that putting the wall unit together was not that hard. In addition, the instructions came with funky pictures, which I will include below for your amusement.

Tee hee!

I had my sort-of first driving lesson this morning. I say "sort of first" because I have actually had 2 other lessons - one with my Mum when I was 16, and one with Craig's Mum nearly 2 years ago. However, both of these were a significantly long time ago, and this time I am learning with a driving school which gives me an impression of it being the "real thing". (The $$$ that came out of my wallet for it were certainly real, but I won't go into that.) I was quite impressed with how well it went - none of the bunny hopping and stalling that I did last time! I suspect this car had an especially friendly gearbox, but I am not sure how this is possible, so maybe I should just quit while I'm ahead and attribute the lack of disaster to my leet driving skill. *Snort*

Update on the Ikea idea: I've discovered that the wall unit I wanted to buy in the previous post is not large enough to accomodate hobby cubes. Most of my stuff is currently stored in hobby cubes, so if I can't put them in the wall unit, I need a change of strategy. Since I haven't been able to find a wall unit with holes of a suitable size, I'm currently thinking that I will buy the wall unit I admired before, and also get some baskets that will go in it. This will look infinitely more classy than the hobby cubes, and I'm sure I can find something else to do with the hobby cubes (extra storage, giving them away, or whatever.)

My new baskets will look like this (but maybe a bit bigger):

Isn't it cute?? Picture of Basket

I've been cleaning up my room a bit (in order to accomodate aforementioned purrrty wall unit and baskets) and I came across a book of letters that Alice (my highschool best friend) and I wrote to eachother in about year 11. It was really weird, the feelings I had back then are still so fresh in my mind, it's hard to believe that it was 7 years ago! Reading the letters makes me feel that I was a deeper person back then, but then again, it was mostly all teen angst and I'm not sure how much of it was worth having. Don't I sound old and cynical? Dang, I wasn't scheduled to hit old and cynical until I was at least 25! ;-)

Okay, I'm over going on about Cairns now. It's long weekend time! Yay!

This long weekend is going to be a bit weird for me, because Craig is in QLD visiting his Dad. This means I won't get to see him for a whole 4 days. *Sob* On the other hand, I get to do whatever I like all weekend, which I admit has its advantages.

I am thinking of buying some shelves from Ikea. This is what they look like:

You can read more about it here.

In other news....not much.

Later.
